Actions in Azure Monitoring

Manage your connected Azure Accounts — edit configuration, re-run discovery, enable or disable monitoring, or remove an account entirely.

Overview

All actions in Azure monitoring are performed from the probe settings page. Navigate to Settings → Monitoring → Probes, select the relevant probe, and open the Azure tab. Each connected Azure Account is listed with its name, discovery interval, monitored services, and a set of action icons on the right.

Editing an Azure Account

To update the configuration of a connected Azure Account, such as modifying the discovery interval, updating credentials, or adding new services to monitor:

  1. Navigate to Settings → Monitoring → Probes
  2. Click the edit icon next to the probe, then open the Azure tab
  3. Click the edit icon next to the Azure Account
  4. The Account form opens pre-filled with the existing configuration
  5. Make the required changes and click Save

Individual monitoring settings for specific Azure resources can also be modified directly from the resource's own settings page.

Rediscovery

If new resources have been added to your Azure Account and are not yet appearing in Cloudmon, you can manually trigger a re-discovery scan without waiting for the next scheduled interval:

  1. Navigate to Settings → Monitoring → Probes
  2. Click the edit icon next to the probe, then open the Azure tab
  3. Click the refresh icon next to the Azure Account
  4. Cloudmon will immediately re-scan your Azure environment and add any newly discovered resources

Enable / Disable Monitoring

You can temporarily pause monitoring for an Azure Account without deleting it. This is useful during maintenance or testing when you want to stop collecting metrics without losing your configuration.

  1. Navigate to Cloud → Azure → [Azure Account]
  2. Select the required resource from Virtual Machines, Storage Accounts, Blob Storage, Table Storage, File Shares, or Queue Storage
  3. Use the toggle switch next to the edit icon to enable or disable monitoring for that resource
  4. The toggle takes effect immediately, with no confirmation required

💡 Note: Disabling monitoring pauses metric collection but retains all existing configuration and historical data. You can re-enable monitoring at any time.

Deleting an Azure Account

To permanently remove an Azure Account from Cloudmon monitoring:

  1. Navigate to Settings → Monitoring → Probes
  2. Click the edit icon next to the probe, then open the Azure tab
  3. Click the delete icon next to the Azure Account
  4. Confirm the deletion when prompted

⚠️ Important: Deleting an Azure Account removes all associated monitoring data and alert rules from Cloudmon. This action cannot be undone. Your actual Azure resources are not affected.
