This guide is intended for IT professionals responsible for deploying, configuring, and operating Cloudmon in their organisation.
The Cloudmon User Guide is written for the following roles:
| Role | How they use Cloudmon |
| IT Operators | Monitor and manage network and system performance on a day-to-day basis. Respond to alarms, investigate incidents, and use dashboards to maintain visibility across the infrastructure. |
| IT Administrators and Network Engineers | Configure and administer the Cloudmon deployment including adding devices, managing credentials, setting up alarm rules, monitoring profiles, and user access. |
| DevOps Teams | Automate and monitor infrastructure across hybrid or cloud environments, integrating Cloudmon alarms and runbooks into operational workflows. |
| IT Operations Managers and Data Centre Managers | Maximise uptime and efficiency. Use reports, dashboards, and SLA data from Cloudmon to support operational decisions and service level commitments. |
| Managed Service Providers (MSPs) | Offer IT monitoring and management services to multiple clients from a single Cloudmon controller, managing customer environments, user access, and reporting across all accounts. |
| Security Teams | Leverage Syslog, SNMP Traps, and network analysis for threat detection and mitigation. Use Windows Event Log monitoring and log rules to detect and respond to security events. |
| Application Monitoring Specialists | Monitor website availability and service performance using synthetic monitoring and Digital Experience Monitoring to ensure reliability for end users. |
This guide covers the full breadth of Cloudmon features. Not all roles will need to read every section. IT Operators will primarily use the monitoring and alarms sections. IT Administrators will focus on installation, deployment, and settings. MSPs should refer to the Cloudmon for MSPs section for guidance specific to their use case.
