iLO Monitoring via API Plugin

The information and access needed from the customer before an HPE iLO device can be onboarded for monitoring in Cloudmon.

Prerequisites

Kindly share the below details for iLO monitoring:

  • iLO version in use on the target server.
  • iLO IP address reachable from the Cloudmon probe.
  • Server name / Hostname for identification in Cloudmon.
  • SNMP version and credentials, depending on what's configured on the device:
    • SNMPv2c: the Community String.
    • SNMPv3: the associated user credentials.
  • Redfish endpoint and credentials, if the Redfish API is enabled on the iLO.

Monitoring Method

iLO is monitored via the Redfish API. In Cloudmon, this is done through a plugin that connects to the iLO's API endpoint.

Connectivity Requirement

  • The Cloudmon probe must be able to reach the iLO server over TCP port 443.

Verification

Confirm connectivity and credentials by running the following from the probe before onboarding:
