Log Profiles

Configure which log types are collected from which servers. Log Profiles define the log source, log type, and target servers for Windows Event Log collection.

Overview

Log Profiles in Cloudmon define which servers should have their logs collected, what type of logs to collect, and which specific log categories to include. A log profile must be created and assigned to target servers before Windows Event Logs or other log types will appear in the Cloudmon log views. Once a profile is active, the collected logs are accessible under Logs → Windows Event Logs for a summary dashboard, or under the specific server's WEL tab for per-device log history.

Creating a Log Profile

  1. Navigate to Settings → Configurations → Log Profiles.
  2. Click Add.
  3. Fill in the fields as described in the table below.
  4. Click Save.
FieldDescription
Profile NameA descriptive name for this log profile, such as "Windows Security Logs" or "Application Error Logs".
Log TypeThe type of log to collect. Select Windows Event Logs for Windows server log collection.
Windows Event TypeThe Windows event log category to collect. Options include Application, System, and Security.
Target ServersThe agent-monitored servers from which this log profile will collect logs. Select one or more servers from the available list.

Once saved, Cloudmon begins collecting the specified log type from the selected servers. The Windows Event Logs dashboard is accessible under Logs → Windows Event Logs.
