Microsoft Teams

Route Cloudmon alarm notifications directly to any Microsoft Teams channel using an incoming webhook. Once configured, alarms can be forwarded to Teams automatically when they fire.

Overview

The Microsoft Teams integration uses an incoming webhook URL to post alarm notifications to a specified Teams channel. When an alarm trigger fires in Cloudmon and the Teams service is selected as a third party service in the alarm rule, Cloudmon sends a notification to the configured channel automatically. Multiple Teams channels can be added to Cloudmon, allowing different alarms to route to different teams or channels.

Step 1: Get the Incoming Webhook URL from Microsoft Teams

  1. Open Microsoft Teams and navigate to the team and channel where you want to receive Cloudmon notifications.
  2. Click the three-dot icon next to the channel name and select Connectors.
  3. Search for Incoming Webhook and click Add.
  4. Give the webhook a name, such as "Cloudmon Alerts", and optionally upload a custom image.
  5. Click Create.
  6. Copy the webhook URL that is displayed. You will paste this into Cloudmon in the next step.
  7. Click Done to complete the Teams setup.

Step 2: Configure in Cloudmon

  1. Navigate to Settings → General Settings → Integrations.
  2. Locate the Microsoft Teams widget and click the + Channel button.
  3. Fill in the fields as described in the table below.
  4. Click Save.
FieldDescription
NameA display name to identify this Teams channel in Cloudmon, such as "NOC Alerts" or "Infrastructure Team".
URLThe incoming webhook URL copied from Microsoft Teams in Step 1. This is the endpoint Cloudmon will post alarm notifications to.

Step 3: Enable in Alarm Rules

  1. Navigate to Settings → Configurations → Alarm Rules.
  2. Click the Add button to create a new alarm rule, or open an existing one.
  3. Add a trigger and configure the alarm conditions.
  4. In the THEN section, enable Third Party Services and select the configured Teams channel from the dropdown.
  5. Click Save.

When this alarm fires, Cloudmon will post a notification to the selected Teams channel automatically.
