Monitor the availability and usage of your S3 buckets in real time. Cloudmon auto-discovers all buckets in your AWS account and begins collecting metrics with no manual configuration required.
S3 (Simple Storage Service) is AWS's object storage service, commonly used for storing backups, logs, media files, and application data. Once your AWS account is connected to Cloudmon, all S3 buckets are automatically discovered. To view your S3 buckets, navigate to Cloud → AWS → [Your AWS Account] → S3.
Selecting an S3 bucket opens its detail page. The overview displays the bucket name, region, and current status. It also shows a summary of key bucket metrics and any recent activity, giving you a quick health check of the bucket at a glance.
Displays storage usage and request statistics collected automatically for each bucket. These metrics help you track how much data is stored and how frequently it is being accessed, which is useful for both capacity planning and cost management.
Displays the replication configuration for the bucket, showing whether cross-region or same-region replication is set up and the current replication status. This is useful for teams that rely on S3 replication for disaster recovery or data redundancy.
Displays auto-generated recommendations based on real-time data from your S3 buckets. Each recommendation is categorised by type (Performance, Security, Cost Optimisation) and includes a severity level (Low, Medium, High) so you can prioritise what to address first. Insights are updated daily and can be found in Cloud → AWS → [Your Account] → S3 → [Bucket Name] → Cloudmon Insights.
| Symptom | Likely Cause | Fix |
| Bucket showing as unavailable | Access issues or a service interruption affecting the bucket | Check the Outages tab for a full history of unavailability including timestamps and duration |
| Replication status showing errors | Cross-region or same-region replication may be misconfigured | Check the Replications tab and cross-reference with the AWS S3 console replication settings |
| Alarms not triggering as expected | Alarm thresholds may not be configured for this bucket | Go to the Alarms tab on the bucket detail page and add or review alarm rules |
